Hello! Thanks so much for taking the time to look through my website. My name is Debbie Turrell and I’m a Sussex based Graphic Designer and Illustrator. I’ve wanted to start my own business for a long time and in 2019 after my youngest started school I began Bella + Phoenix (their middle names, in case you wanted to know :).

My children (like so many) have always had an avid interest in the natural world. From rock pooling to finding mini beasties in the back garden, they would be inspected (not dissected!) and then avidly talked about. Next would come the barrage of questions!

It inspired me to create the ‘Tee of Knowledge’ with the main aim being to get children learning more about the natural world in a fun and organic way - whether it be swotting up on facts, keeping cosy whilst on outdoor adventures or learning a new skill with my new nature inspired sewing kits.

I’m passionate about ethical production, the T-shirts and sweatshirts are hand printed in the U.K. onto lovely GOTS certified organic cotton with water based eco-friendly, vegan inks. The stock I use is recycled and the packaging is biodegradable (made with vegetable starch). I’m by no means perfect and am constantly looking for more environmentally friendly ways that I can do things.

I hope your little explorers will be inspired!
